Costa del Sol

The Costa del Sol is one of the most interesting areas of Spain, where the Moorish influences are clearly evident. A region with contrasting scenery where you can enjoy the superb beaches, golf courses and marinas or leave them behind and within half a day be in the magnificent mountains of the Sierra Nevada.

Popular coastal resorts on the Costa del Sol include Fuengirola, Marbella and Malaga. Inland, a visit to Granada is a must. Here you can see one of the finest examples of Moorish Architecture - The Alhambra - a beautiful Moorish Palace & gardens. The picturesque old town of Ronda also has some wonderful architectural treasures and the view from the bridge across the Tajo Gorge can only be described as spectacular.

Further round the coast, on the Costa de La Luz, the port of Cadiz is worth a visit and you might fancy a trip to the famous sherry town of Jerez.

Whatever your interests you cannot fail to be captivated by this region of Spain, with its "Pueblos Blancos" (white towns) perched in the hilltops, fine beaches and, to top it all, it is a golfer's paradise, with some of the best known courses at Valderrama, Sotogrande, San Roque and Estepona.
